-Excellent Gusto Recipes-

Wake up to the bold flavour of the “Good Morning, Sun!” Panino, a healthy treat. Excellent Gusto dedicates this recipe to The State of The Union, an important international event, which takes place every year in Florence and has Excellent Gusto as its partner. The Recipe has been interpreted by the incredible artistic photography by renowned Australian photographer, Steve Fraser.

Ingredients for 1 Panino:

1 classic baguette bread (about 5cm long and 3cm wide); 1 Reinette apple;  1 blood orange (juice and zest); 100g goat’s milk Ricotta cheese; 2 tbsp chestnut honey; 2 tbsp water; 10 dark chocolate chips.

Prepare the Crema Sole Purée

Wash and peel the apples and cut into small wedges, then using a hand mixer blend the apples together with the water to obtain a smooth and homogeneous cream. In a nonstick pan add the pureed apples and 1 tablespoon of honey and heat for 15 seconds, continuously stirring the ingredients. Remove from the burner and add the Ricotta cheese, then heat for another 8 seconds, mixing the ingredients well. Remove from heat and pour in the orange juice, mixing well to obtain the thick and soft Crema Sole Purée.

Prepare the Panino

Cut the baguette in half lengthwise. Spread the Crema Sole Purée on one side. Pour the remaining honey along the other half, then sprinkle the grated orange zest and the chocolate chips on top. Close the baguette and put it in the oven for 2 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Remove from the oven.

Enjoy this “Good Morning, Sun!” Panino with a nice cold citrus drink.
