As the event’s partner, Excellent Gusto presented the specialties of the “Tavola Italiana” (the “Italian Table”) and the tasty “Friendship Panini.” At the Excellent Gusto Conference, “I Volti del Cibo” (“The Faces of Food”), internationally known experts and academics dealt with the various aspects of food such as: anthropological, scientific, psychological, culinary, economic, and lifestyle.

High quality food and wine for the message of Union and Exchange among the international people at the “Tavola Italiana”. There were elegant tastings, guided by the producers and experts of Excellent Gusto’s Advisory Board, with samplings of regional specialties of wine, olive oil, salami, truffles, bread, cakes, sauces and many other delicacies from the most famous cuisine in the world.

There was a sharing of cultures and tastes in creating the “Friendship Panini”! This international intercultural project, engaged children in the exploration of typical sandwiches from different parts of the world. Excellent Gusto partnered with the Italian school, Sacred Heart School of Florence, as well as the Australian school, Sacred Heart Primary School, located in Perth. The children drew the “European Sandwich Map” and a typical Australian sandwich.

Excellent Gusto’s guests of honour included Florentine painter Giovanni Bruzzi, who was awarded Knight of the Italian Republic for artistic merits and the artist Luana Raia. Bruzzi’s paintings depicted moments of Italian country life. Luana led an educational course on the ancient technique of etching.

Excellent Gusto dedicated the recipe “Good Morning, Sun!” Panino to The State of The Union – Festival of Europe 2015. This is a recipe of blessings for a better future, interpreted from the remarkable photography by famous Australian photographer Steve Fraser.
